I realy wanted a painting course and learn to paint in watercolours, but in the watercolour courses there were just too many people and teacher never got around to me so we were left to our own devices, but I didn't know what to do as I have never painted before. You will not be thrown in at the deep end...
Everybody that starts something new is very nervous and that is why you will not be thrown in at the deep end.We will be starting from the very basics and will build up from there to your very first masterpiece. Taking your time and enjoying it is what we look for at Coupe Watercolours
There is a watercolour course for every ability....
We cater for everybody and all abilities with watercolour holidays that we still find time to introduce the beginer to watercolour painting to all the basics and yet assist with helping the inprovers. With the two hour watercolour workshops we help artists with their own projects or work together with a paint along. Then there is the Saturday watercolour workshop where we run through the basics in the morning and then after lunch work through a paint along.
I would love to try watercolour painting but have no materials..
We will be going through materials required on the first lesson so don't go out buying materials that are not suitable, we have watercolour sets already equipped with all you need that can be hired for the day and when you have tried watercolour painting and discovered you love it you can then layout the money on your own materials.
I would love to take a holiday that involves my hobby and is different....
 A watercolour painting holiday is an holiday with a difference, it is relaxing, informative, and great fun. To mix with people that have the same interest that want to capture the great British landscape on watercolour paper is our aim. So now watercolour holidays form a large part of the tuition time, and are growing in popularity all the time.
Rather than use hotels on the painting holidays can I use my caravan..
Yes, I use my caravan on all the holidays and so can you. With the cost of hotels increasing all the time this would take away much of the cost of a watercolour painting holiday. We mostly use Caravan Club sites so you would need to be a member to use the same sites or you can pick your own site. We try to stay near the hotel so we can join the others in the evening for a chat of the days events.
Would a painting holiday be ok for a complete beginner....
Yes, it will give us the opportunity to work from nature, that is so much better than working from photographs but we will not miss out on the basics, we will go through those during the week and make sure by the end of the week you have a good grounding in the essentials of watercolour painting out of doors. Painting with a group is always beneficial, what you will find is you will learn from the others and see different ways of doing things.
Can I bring my non painting partner along......
Certainly, and they are most welcome. We normally find there are two or three non-painters on the courses and what is nice is they will form a friendship and go off and do their own thing such as golfing, walking, fishing or even shopping. We aim to make it on holiday for them just as much as the painters.
What can I do if I don't have transport.....
If you can get to me before the holiday I am quite willing to take you, also you would come with me to all the venues. We always aim to fill each car to cut down on parking at the venues and there is always spare seats in the cars that you can use, then rotate the use of each car but my car is always available.
